Oreka Kids. A collection of children's furniture. Art directed by
Simon Maidment and Michael Marriott. I was invited by Simon
and Michael in 1999 to design a piece of children's furniture for
a collection called 'Biscuit'. My design was called Shortcake
(after a biscuit I like). Shortcake is a small reversible bench,
which acts as a vehicle for playing games. The drilled holes and
wooden poles provided give children the opportunity to transform
their bench by adding wheels, oars, sails, signs, etc.
I still like it in 2010.
