My idea for the first Ten exhibition was to buy some cheap second
hand tools and build some useful things. I spent £6 on the tools
from Deptford market. Then a further £4 on screws, nails and
rubberfeet. The tools were used to build my exhibits. All of the
wood was found locally (mostly in skips). At 100% Design I
showed a toolbox (for the tools to live in), a pair of trestles and a
work light. Not so long ago most people had a few tools around the
home andthey would mend things. keep things going for a bit
longer. Or even make an item from scratch.
